Joyce Rodgers - Pastor

I have been so delighted to have the opportunity to serve the people of Gordonsville & Barboursville, both within and outside of the church. I have been overwhelmed by the strong sense of community that exists among the people and the kindness that has been expressed since arriving.
I was baptized into the United Methodist Church in 2002 in Woodbridge, Virginia. After having served the church in many capacities as laity, I received my call to pastoral ministry. Since that time, I have completed my degree in psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University and have recently received my Master of Divinity Degree from the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. I am currently in the candidacy process to become an Elder within the United Methodist Church.
My husband, Jeffrey, and I have four grown children – Caroline, Katherine, Jonathan and Joshua, and have been blessed to see our family expand with the inclusion of our daughter-in-law Ariel in 2016 and our granddaughter Daphne in 2024.
I am so excited to see where God will lead me, our congregations and the church in the years ahead.
